In 2014, Bel Brands USA, supported by Bel Foundation, renewed and extended its partnership with local chapters of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). Initially limited to Brookings, the initiative has been extended to two other counties in South Dakota, where the Group inaugurated its 28th plant in 2014.
Bel Brands USA and the BGCA invited youths to participate in nutrition workshops aimed at giving youths the key to a healthy life by enhancing their nutritional knowledge. The program addresses issues of diet, exercise, and mental and physical health, as well as the importance of the home environment.
Since November 2014, 58 youths have participated in the program. Bel employees are hoping to reach 150 young people in all.
This initiative, which underscores the commitment of Bel teams to get involved locally, may be extended to a school in Chicago, where the Bel Brand USA subsidiary is headquartered.
