Bel uses biomass for responsible production

A biomass boiler has been installed at the Cléry-Dun-sur-Meuse plant in France since February 2012. It provides for 77% of the plant's heating needs. In 2014, it alone produced 6.3% of the energy used for Group heat production. Building on that impressive result, Bel plans to deploy biomass units on a broader scale. In 2015, a biomass boiler will go on line at the Sablé-sur-Sarthe plant in France. Biomass projects are in the pipeline at two other Group sites, including Ribeira Grande in Portugal and Evron in France.
